Your data stays with you.
The short version
- Thalam stores all data locally on your device only
- No data is sent to any server, ever
- No analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry
- No account or sign-in required
- Notifications are local — no push servers involved
- In-App Purchase is handled entirely by Apple
1. Who we are
Thalam is developed and published by Cheppulabs, a personal software lab operated by Anish Monci Varghese. You can reach us at hello@cheppulabs.com.
2. Data we collect
Thalam does not collect any personal data. The app has no servers, no backend, and no network calls of its own.
All data you create in the app — tasks, categories, planned blocks, time logs, and your user profile — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device in the current version of the app.
3. Analytics and tracking
Thalam contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting tools, no advertising networks, and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not know how you use the app, how often you open it, or what features you use.
4. Notifications
If you enable block reminders (a Pro feature), Thalam schedules local notifications through iOS. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device by the operating system — no data is sent to any external server to deliver them. You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
5. In-App Purchases
Thalam offers a Pro upgrade as a one-time non-consumable In-App Purchase, processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Cheppulabs does not handle or store any payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs the purchase transaction. When you restore a purchase, this is also handled directly by Apple.
6. Future iCloud sync
A future version of Thalam plans to offer optional iCloud sync to let your data move between your Apple devices. If and when this is added, your data will travel through Apple's iCloud infrastructure (governed by Apple's privacy policy) — not any Cheppulabs server. This privacy policy will be updated before that feature ships.
7. Children's privacy
Thalam is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children. Because the app collects no data from anyone, there is no specific data processing concern for children.
8. Data deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all Thalam data at any time by deleting the app from your iPhone. This permanently removes all tasks, time logs, planned blocks, and settings associated with the app.
9. Changes to this policy
If this privacy policy changes materially — for example, when iCloud sync is added — the updated policy will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
